Our Care and Concern groups give help
in areas such as Transport, emergencies, home help, visiting the
aged and sick, prison driving, child minding, emergency cooking
and catering and handyman help.
The group is ecumenical, united with St David's Anglican Church,
Chelmer and Graceville Uniting Church. Meetings are advertised
in the Parish Newsletter. New Members most welcome. |

Society of St Vincent De Paul |
 |
The Local conferences of Graceville
and Corinda participate in meetings and charitable activities
of the Society. Their main function is visiting the poor, the
sick and the needy in their homes, in hospitals and institutions
and providing assistance and comfort where needed.
Referrals for assistance are channeled through the Welfare Office
at South Brisbane. Corinda meetings are held at 7pm on Wednesday's
at St Joseph's. New members and casual helpers are always welcome. |

Communion to the Sick and Elderly |
 |
Communion to the sick and elderly,
either in their own homes or nursing institutions, is offered
on a weekly basis. The Pastoral Response Team is also available
when an emergency arises and no Priest is available. |

Friends and Neighbours |
 |
Meet several times a year. to celebrate
Mass and to share a morning tea. These occasions take place on
particular Monday's as advertised in the Parish Newsletter.
An open invitation is extended to all, and not only are new parishioners
welcome, but also those people living alone, or those who have
difficulty in coming to Sunday Mass and people residing in nursing
homes.
There is also an Anointing Mass celebrated bi-monthly for the
elderly and sick. This Mass is usually held at the Friday 10am
Mass and is for the elderly and sick. |

Catholic Women's League |
 |
This national charitable organisation
has 15,000 members, with a National Secretariat in Canberra which
influences bishops, parliamentarians and government executives.
It is affiliated with the World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations.
It reviews the objectives of the league every two years to promote
the role of Australian Women.
Members are active in most areas of the parish. Meetings are held
the first Tuesday of each Month at 9.30am. New members are welcome. |

Parish Liturgy Committee |
 |
The role of the Liturgy Committee
is to provide opportunities to create an atmosphere of welcome,
belonging and prayer when the parish gathers together to worship.
They ensure that liturgies are relevant, alive, challenging, creative
and prayful, faith filled celebrations, clearly connected to daily
life experiences.
The Committee provides practical and moral support for our Priest
in his work of enhancing the liturgical life of the parish, and
support on-going formation for all ministers of the liturgical
celebrations.
They also draw forth gifts from the community.
New members are always welcome. |

Parish Music Committee |
 |
The ministers of music provide music
for all week-end masses as well as for funerals, weddings and
for other special occasions. Organists and singers are available
on request. |

Children's Liturgy of the Word |
 |
The Children's Liturgy of the Word
is a simplified version of the Sunday readings for the children
from pre-school age to year four. This is offered at the 8.00am
and 9.30am parish Sunday masses on the 1st and 4th Sunday's of
the month. Volunteer leaders are welcome. |

The Environment Group |
 |
The group works together at the service
of liturgy to bring an added consciousness and warmth to the church
environment using symbols appropriate to the liturgical seasons.
New members with ideas, talents and energy would be warmly welcome. |

Sacristans |
 |
The Sacristans care for all altar
linen, vestments, glassware, brass etc. At Graceville - Preparation
of the Altar for Celebration of Mass. |

Prayer Groups |
 |
The Corinda group meets Tuesdays at
7.45pm in a private home. They praise God and pray for the sick,
dying and bereaved and intercede for people, the parish and the
world.
The Graceville group gathers every Wednesday morning from 9.00am
to 10.00am in the convent in Randolph Street, Graceville to share
Scripture, pray before the Blessed Sacrament and reflect.
Involved in many church activities, the Prayer Groups also keep
in touch with contemporary social issues and world news. |

Little Rock Scripture Study |
 |
There are 3 sessions every week: Wednesday
6.30am & 7.30pm and Thursday 9.00am. Students participate
in weekly group meetings with discussions based on work done at
home during the week.
Children are welcome with their parents at the Thursday morning
group. |

Christian Meditation Groups |
 |
There are two groups each week, which
meet in private homes. Times are Wednesday 7pm and Thursday 9am. |

Parish Pastoral Council |
 |
Ten nominated members plus the Parish
Priest and ex-officio members such as Pastoral Ministry Co-Ordinator
and school representatives form the Pastoral Council.
The Parish Pastoral Council is responsible for the development
of a unified parish to become an alive Christian community and
to live the mission of the Church in the world. |

Parish Finance Committee |
 |
The Finance Committee consists of
the Parish Priest, Parish Administration Officer and six members
of the parish chosen by the Parish Priest generally for their
expertise in financial management.
The Finance Committee advise the Parish Priest on the financial
management of the parish and fund raising and keeps all parishioners
informed of the financial situation. It meets monthly. |

Parish Social Committee |

The Social Committee was formed mainly
for the purpose of organising a variety of social functions and
to encourage participation by as many of our parishioners as possible.
The committee welcomes new members, new ideas and suggestions
for activities. |

Justice and Peace Group |
 |
The Group seeks to promote within our own Parish environment and beyond, the awareness and the effective application of the Social Justice teachings of the Church, sourced in such documents as the Social Encyclical Letters, other Pontifical statements, the documents of the Second Vatican Council and Holy Scripture.
Our published papers seek to parallel and to illustrate in simple terms the mission of the Church in the work of Jesus, founded upon the essential dignity of every human person. |
